Groups & Classes
Lopping Hall is used by a whole range of different local groups on a regular basis including several dance schools, fitness & exercise groups and local art groups. We are also well known for highly-rated musicals and plays put on by Loughton Operatic Society (LOS) and Loughton Amateur Dramatic Society (LADS).

Loughton Amateur Dramatic Society (LADS)
LADS have been producing 4 plays a year at Lopping Hall since 1924. We are a friendly, inclusive group dedicated to providing plays of genuine dramatic worth for the people of Loughton and beyond to enjoy.

Rehearsals are 2/3 evenings a week, usually on a Monday and Thursday, but also some Wednesdays.

Loughton Operatic Society (LOS)
Loughton Operatic Society, better known as LOS, has been going for over 125 years now! We perform 2 Musical Productions a year at Lopping Hall – our home since 1874! We are always on the look out for new members whether it’s on stage or to help out behind the scenes.

Loughton Karate Club
We're a family friendly club based in Loughton where we practice the Wado Ryu style of karate with an emphasis on practical self-defence, not sport.

We have classes every Sunday 4pm - 5pm (adults only) & 5pm - 6pm (family session).

Loughton Residents Association (LRA)
The LRA is a very active group of local residents who care for Loughton and its environment. Our membership is around 1,000 households, and we have been in existence for nearly 40 years. We are independent of any political party.
We seek, and listen to, the views and concerns of Loughton residents and take action in support. We have a majority of the councillors on the Loughton Town Council, and councillors on Epping Forest District Council & Essex County Council.

We meet on the first Monday of every month at 8pm.

Loughton Camera Club
Loughton Camera Club started life in 1945 at the instigation of a local photographer, one E W Perrett, and the club has met at Lopping Hall ever since.
We are a friendly group of like-minded individuals with an enthusiasm for all things photographic and we welcome all with an interest in photography.
Our members’ experience starts from beginners through to professional level.

Brownies is about getting together weekly to work on badges, learn new skills, play games and see friends. It's about trying adventurous activities and going along to special events, day trips, sleepovers, camps and holidays.

Top Hat Performing Art School
Top Hat Performing Arts School offers engaging and educational classes in the performing arts, for ages 18months through to Adults, taught by fully qualified and experienced teachers. We teach ISTD Ballet, Tap and Modern, the Acrobatic Arts Programme, Musical Theatre, Street, Contemporary, Drama and Singing, offering exam, show and competition work in all styles. Weekly classes with workshops through half term.
